Death of Miss Vander Aarde
Miss Dora Van der Aarde, whose serious illness has been mentioned from time to time in the columns of THE HERALD, peacefully passed away last Saturday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock at the home of her parents, Mr, and Mrs. B. A. Van der Aarde, in the south part of the city. She was twenty-one years of age and her death was caused by that dread disease, consumption. During her long illness she bore her intense sufferings patiently and uncomplainingly and she was wholly resigned to the fate which she knew, at no distant day, awaited her. Deceased was a true Christian and devoted much of her time to the unbuilding of the cause of Christ, She was a member of the First Reformed church, the society of Christian Endeavor and of the Mission Band, and her pure Christian life was one worthy of emulation by others. Miss Van der Aarde grew to womanhood in our midst and her womanly, unselfish disposition and kindness of heart endeared to all who knew her. Hence her death not only brought deep sorrow to the members of her family but to the entire Community as well, by which she will be greatly missed. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon, at 1 o'clock from the family residence and at 2 o'clock from the First Reformed church, Rev. M. Kolyn conducting both services, and the unusually large attendance was indicative the high esteem in which deceased was held. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the grief stricken family.

Van der Aarde is rouw gedompeld ook daar eishre de onverbiddelije dood een ofer, in het wegnemen van de nog in den bloei haars leven zijnde dochter Dora. Het medegevoel is algemeen. Dinsdagnamiddag word haar stoffelij overschot aan de aarde toevertrouwd.
