Final Riles Held for Mrs. Wenzel, 60-Year Resident Mrs. Charles Wenzel of Alvord, a resident of Lyon county far the last 61 years, was burled Sunday afternoon In St. Paul's Lutheran cemetery at Hull. Mrs. Wenzel died last Wednesday afternoon, June 27, while seated in her living room, hands folded in her lap. Her passing: was discovered at about 3 p. m.
Funeral services were held in Christ Lutheran church at Alvord, with Rev. A. E. Sommers In charge. Mrs. Ida Schmuhl and members of the church choir presented special music.

Pallbearers were Aamus Stoltenberg, Henry Peters, Ed Ahrens, Georpe Fredrlcksen, Leo O'Connor and Otto Berg. Born Near Elkader Born near Elkader, To., Oct. 24, 1868, Ida Marie Wenzel was the daughter of Carl and Marie "Lemke. She came to this part of the state In 1875. when her parents moved to Hull Six years later, at the age of 13, she was confirmed in the Lutheran church.

She became the wife of Charles Wenzel on March 14. 1888, and in 1890 the young couple moved Into Lyon county—where the home had been, ever since. They farmed near Lester for several years, were later in business in that town for a period, but in 1910 moved back onto a farm northwest of Alvord. They retired to Alvord in 1921—and It was there that thev observed their 50th, 60th and last March 14—63rd wedding anniversaries.

Mrs. Wenzel is survived by her husband, now 89, and five of her six children: Willie, Clovis, Calif.; Fred, Lester; Tillie (Mrs. .John Groth), Larchwood; Katie (Mrs. John Witt) Alvord; and Tonnie (Mrs. Wm. Miller), Sioux Falls. Twenty-six grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren are also among the survivors. One son, Carl, died in Infancy; while nine brothers, two sisters, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also preceded Mrs. Wenzel In death.
