Just as we go to press the sad news of the death of James Walters of Star Prairie Wisconsin, was received in a telegram to Mrs. Jno. Mayer of this city, to whom the people of Hull and vicinity extend their sympathies in her bereavement. Of this more news.

The entire community was saddened Thursday morning when it became known that Mr. H. Walters had passed away during the night. Only ____ knew that he was ill, and they ____ not aware that the illness had made a serious turn. Of a jovial disposition he will be sadly missed by his family and a host of friends.
James Henry Walters was born in ____, on Jan 22, 1832, and died in Star Prairie, Oct 22, 1914, at the age of 82 years and nine months. His early childhood was spent in New York state, from there he came to Wisconisn, was married to Miss Annie Ruskell __ 8, 1857 at Wausau. They lived at New Centerville for a few years, then moved to Sioux County, Iowa, where he took up a homestead, living there until about 15 years ago, when he moved to Star Prairie, which has been their home.
Mr. Walters saw nine months service in the Civil War. He was a member of the GAR and was the oldest member of Sioux Lodge No.___of I. O. O. F. at Hull Iowa. Surviving are the widow and five children, ___ grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
The children were all present at the funeral: Mrs. Carrie Cain of Bigelow, ___; Mrs. Ida Holiday of Wagen, _____, Mrs. Myra Stromner of Minneapolis, Mrs. Eva Mayer of Hull IA, Frank Walter of Deer Lodge Montana.
The family has the sympathy of the community in their hour of sorrow. The funeral service was conducted in the home of the decedent Sunday afternoon by the Rev. A. E. Fras____ of the Congregational church. Interment was had in the Richmond Cemetery. ~Rest of article is not very legible.
