Attempted translation:Thursday morning, Mrs. R. Terpstra, died due to pneumonia. For the last three years, she had been unable to go to church, and she didn't leave her home. Mrs. Terpstra was born on 16 Feb 1854, in Tjum Frisland, Netherlands. Still being the Netherlands she married Mr. Dirk Haarsma, just as she came to America in 1887.
Nine Children were born from this marriage, five of whom died at a young age, still in the Netherlands. The remaining children, Jake Haagsma, in Sanborn, Bessie Mrs. Morris Zwiep, Fannie Mrs. George Van Roekel, Sanborn, and Sarah, who, after her sister Bessie married six Years ago, came home from Denver, CO. and her mother was always cared for.
Mr. Haagsma died in 1890 and later married Mr. R. ‘Ritske’ Terpstra, who preceded her in 1904. The children of Mr. Terpstra (Stepchildren of the deceased) are Mrs. J. Veenstra and Mrs. Manus Zoet, and Joe, Piet and Klaas Terpstra, to Ogilvie, and Sip Terpstra at Hospers.
Furthermore, after a brother in East India, Mrs. Terpstra leaves a brother, Mr. F. Tiemersma at Grundy Center; and a sister, Mrs. R. Hoekstra, Sheldon. And about 7 grandchildren.
The funeral service was held Monday at the 1st Chr. Ref. Church, Where the deceased was a member, and from which society, she was president for 14 years, under the leadership of Ds. W. P. Van Wyk, who had until text Js. 33:24.
At the funeral were here, from elder, the Mr. and Mrs. George Van Roekel of Sanborn, Mr. S. Terpstra of Hospers; Mr. and Mrs. R. Hoekstra of Sheldon; and Mr. and Mrs. F. Teimersma of Grundy Center, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Haagsma could not attend as Saturday was born a lifeless child, which was also buried Monday. We also wish to express our sincere feeling of sympathy, and wish the bereaved family warmly of the Lord's comfort.
