Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden, with the Reverend Dean Shelly officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be afternoon Sunday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Larry G. McKee was born Dec. 17, 1939, in Hawarden, the son of Jesse and Beulah (Marshall) McKee. He attended Hawarden High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Germany for two years prior to his discharge in 1960.

He married Edith "Edie" Bryson on June 24, 1961, in Hawarden. They made their home in Hawarden, where he was employed as a mechanic at Venard Chevrolet, which later became Ver Hoef Chevrolet. He retired in 1996.

He was a member of Hawarden Eagles Club. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, go-cart racing, antique engines and ballroom dancing. He was a member of the Hawarden Eagles Club.

Survivors include his wife, Edie; two sons, Kelly and his wife, Maria of Anoka, Minnesota, and Tracy of Minneapolis; a daughter and her husband, Cheryl and Joe Smith of Hawarden; four brothers, Jerry and his wife, Ginger of Killeen, Texas, Melvin of Dallas, Texas, David and his wife, Jeanne of Moline, Illinois and Steve and his wife, Mary Ann of Toney, Ala.bama; two sisters, Mildred Schwartz of Le Mars, Iowa, and Vicki and her husband, Louie Smith of Austin, Texas; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dale; and a granddaughter, Teresa McKee.
