MARIETJE VANDE BRAKE PASSED

It is our painful duty to mention the death of Mrs. Gerrit Vande Brake an old resident here, but lately lived with her daughter near Ireton. She came for a visit here with her daughter and was taken with severe pain and was take to Le Mars where she underwent an operation for gall stones, with the result that she died soon after.

The funeral was held herein the First Reformed Church last Saturday. She was laid torest in Memory Gardens Sioux Center Cemetery.

Note: Marietje was married to Sipke F. Wynia in 1864. Sipke and Marietje arrived in March 1874 in New York with the vessel "Rotterdam". He passed away 1875. In 1875 she married Gerrit Vande Brake and he passed away August 11, 1914.
