Research note: From a family history done by others on ancestry.com, Joshua Edward Stickle born July 7, 1829 Schuyler Falls Clinton, NY died 6 Feb 1879 at Hempstead, Waller, TX, this account states he was buried in Hawarden IA. His parents were Joshua Stickle 1801-1867 and Mary A. Puffer 1802-1854. He married Mary Ann Ellis 1834-1911.

Their last child Alice Stickle was born 1878 in Texas, prior to that the family lived in Iowa and New York. Children listed were – Herbert 1852, Edward 1854, Mary 1857, Clara 1862, Joshua 1864 and Alice 1878.
