Henry G. Vugteveen, 83, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, died Saturday, June 8, at the Veterans Administration Hospital.

Henry Vugteveen was born February 4, 1908, in Rock Valley, Iowa. He married Nellie Vande Weerd, December 27, 1934, in Canton, South Dakota. She died in 1976. After their marriage the couple lived in Rock Valley, Boyden and Hawarden, Iowa, before coming to Sioux Falls in 1952.

Rejoined the Army during World War II, serving in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater.

He was employed at Reinhard Auto Parts Company and later at Empire Auto. Mr. Vugteyeen retired in 1973.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Rock Valley Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jim (Yvonne) Schmuck, Sioux Falls; one grandchild; and one sister, Lyda Brandsma, Hawarden, Iowa.

Services were held at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with burial in Valley View Cemetery in Rock Valley, Iowa.
