Mr. and Mrs. Peter E. and Rena (Borgman) Vermeer received word from the War Department on November 7 that their son, 2nd Lt. David E. Vermeer had been "killed in action" over Germany on March 18, 1945. Last April they received a message that he was missing in action since that date.
He entered the service on February 24, 1943 and left the States about February 1st, 1945 and was a member of the 8th Air Forces stationed in England. David had just reached his 21st birthday on March 15.
