Fall Fatal to Steven Vellinga, 9 Of Orange City

Steven Vellinga, 9, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Vellinga of Orange City, died early Sunday morning at the Orange City hospital of injuries incurred when he fell through a glass panel door Saturday at his home.

The boy fell forward through the door and onto jagged edges of glass exposed when the center of the panel gave way. He received severe intestinal injuries when a v-shaped piece of glass penetrated his abdomen.

He is survived by his parents, four brothers, Rodney, Jr. in with the armed forces in Texas, and David, Mark and Timothy, all at home: two sisters, Adriana and Deborah, both at home; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vellinga of Orange City; and maternal grandmother, Mrs. A. M. Van Wyk, also of Orange City.
