The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Vander Brink succumbed after a severe illness last week Wednesday. Burial services were held S[atur?]day.

From the Sioux County Capital, January 21, 1937, Sioux Center news:

[Left-hand margin cut off]
[The] baby of Steve Vanden Brink [died] ----day afternoon and was [buried] Thursday. The child was [born?] Jan. 6.

His death certificate has Marvin Van Den Brink, son of Steve and Adriana Van Den Brink, born 1 January 1937 in Reading Township, Sioux County; died in the Hull hospital at 7:00 p.m. January 11, 1937; cause, flu, onset January 6.
