FARMER DIES AFTER TRACTOR ACCIDENT

Arie Van Zandbergen,71, who farmed near Newkirk nine miles northeast of here, died Tuesday afternoon at a Sioux Center, Iowa Hospital of injuries suffered in a tractor accident at his farm Tuesday morning.

Mr. Van Zandbergen was found unconscious in a field with a tractor tire resting partly on his body, it was reported. The accident was discovered by a neighbor, Lloyd Van Roekel, who was helping Mr. Van Zandbergen pick corn. Mr. Van Roekel went looking for Mr. Van Zandbergen when he failed to return from the field.

Mr. Van Zandbergen had farmed near Orange City all of his life. He was married to Trina Hoffs.

Survivors include the widow; three sons, Harold, Marion and Adrian, all of Orang City; and eight grandchildren.

The body was taken to the Van Etten Funeral Home at Orange City.
