Funeral services for Cornelius Van Tilburg, 79, were held Tuesday, March 26, at 1:30 at Porter Funeral Home with the Reverend Van Zweden officiating.

Mrs. William L. Rozeboom was organist and the congregation sang several hymns. Mr. Van Tilburg died Friday, March 22 at the Rock Rapids Hospital following a week’s illness.

Cornelius Van Tilburg was born in The Netherlands December 10, 1888. He came to America 47 years ago. He married Annette Smit February 2, 1925 in Sioux Center,

He is survived by the widow, four sons: Floris of George, Thomas and Aemery, Rock Rapids and Marvin of Alvord; one daughter, Mrs. John Vanden Berg of Hull and twenty grandchildren. He has three brothers and one sister in Holland.

Pallbearers were: Clinton Van Roekel, Cornelius Scheffer, Arie Schimmel, Tony Hieda, Anthony Smit and Thomas Bouwman.

Interment was in Valley View Cemetery.
