From the Sioux Center News, October 29, 1936:

Little Della, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Klein, passed away on Monday afternoon at 3 p.m. at the Hull hospital after an illness of four days. The little girl was taken sick Wednesday. When medical aid was called Thursday, it was found she was suffering from a ruptured appendix. She was taken to the Hull hospital at once in grave condition. There was no chance to operate as she never gained sufficient strength to carry her through an operation as serious as that would have been.

She is survived by two sisters, Alla, 16, Mina, 15, and one brother Charles, 9. Little Della the youngest child was born June 22, 1932, and was four years and four months old at the time of her death.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 12:45 at the home, three miles north and ½ mile west of Sioux Center, and at 1:30 p.m. at the 1st Chr. Ref. church, Rev. J. M. Dykstra officiating. Interment will be at Sioux Center Cemetery.

Her death certificate adds her parents, Leendert Arie Klein, born in Cerro Gordo County, Missouri, and Johanna Lammers, born in Sioux County; died at 2 p.m. October 26, 1936 of myocarditis, onset October 24, occasioned by a ruptured appendix, duration 4 days.
