Services Held For Anthony A. Van Roekel

Anthony A. "Tony" Van Roekel, 83, of Sibley died Sunday night in the Montevideo hospital after a six month Illness.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the First Reformed Church of Sibley with the Reverend Schmidt officiating. Burial was at Alton Cemetery under the direction of the Walton Funeral Home of Sibley.

Pallbearers were his nephews, Arlen, Harvard, and Jerry Van Roekel and Ronald Mulder of Montevideo, Minnesota, Dwight Johnson of Willmar, Minnesota, and Melvin Mored of Worthington, Minnesota.

Mr. Van Roekel was born March 6, 1886. He married Jeanette Vander Meer on February 27, 1908. They farmed in the Maurice and Orange City areas, but was a retired farmer for twenty years.

His survivors are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Len (Nancy) Luchtenburg of Dundee, Minnesota, and Mrs. Joe (Leora) Mulder of Montevideo, Minnesota, two sons, Henry of Montevideo, Minnesota, and Art of Rock Valley, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two children.
