Services were held December 18 in the First Reformed Church in Rock Valley, Iowa for Harlan Van Roekel, 19, who died December 14 in the Rock Valley Hospital following a six months' illness. Reverend Ten Clay officiated and Porter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Hope Cemetery at Hull.

Harlan was born September 6, 1949 in Sioux Falls and graduated from Rock Valley Community High School.

Survivors are Mr. and Mrs. Art Van Roekel, mother and father, brother, Kenton, sister, Melinda, all at home; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Van Roekel of Sibley and Mr. and Mrs. Henry E. Bonestroo of Hull.
