From the Sioux County Index (Hull), July 12, 1962:

Mr. and Mrs. Wolfswinkel received a telephone call from California, informing them that Mr. John Plender had passed away at his apartment in Long Beach, as the result of a heart attack. The funeral services were held Friday. The family formerly lived near Hull.
