Mrs. Peter Van Roekel Rites Tuesday

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Trinity Reformed Church for Mrs. Peter Van Roekel, 79, who passed away Friday at 8:30 a.m., in the Orange City Hospital, where she had been a patient since October 1961.

Johanna Hendrika De Jong was born July 10, 1882, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacobus De Jong of Maurice and was married December 27, 1906.

Mr. and Mrs. Van Roekel were the parents of three children: Elmer, who resides at Maurice; Milton, whose death occurred April 8, 1958; Ruth (Mrs. Milo Schwartz) passed away April 6, 1948.

Surviving besides the husband, and son, Elmer, are 4 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two sisters: Mrs. Tillie Duven and Bertha De Jong of Orange City; two brothers, Hubert De Jong of Maurice and Harold De Jong of Paullina.

Two sisters and 2 brothers preceded in death. Officiating at the funeral services were: Reverend
H.S. Muilenburg and Reverend H. Colenbrander. Burial was in the local cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral Service.
