Adrianus "James" Van Peursem, son of George and Wilhelmina (Kars) Van Peursem of Sherman Township, died Monday at one o'clock P.M. after a long illness.

Deceased was a young man of high character and 18 years old. About ten weeks ago, he was taken to Iowa City in the hope that an operation might save his life, but every effort of the family was fruitless and the end came as a relief from long suffering.

The funeral will be held this afternoon from the Maurice Church. He was buried at Sherman Township Cemetery, Maurice, Sioux County, Iowa.
