Funeral services for John Melvin Van Peursem, 47, of Deming, New Mexico, were held at the First Reformed Church of Orange City on Wednesday afternoon. Reverend Robert Bast officiated. Interment was made in the Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral Home.

Services for Mr. Van Peursem were also held at the Presbyterian Church of Deming on Sunday afternoon.

Mr. Van Peursem passed away at his home in Deming at 6 a.m., Saturday after suffering all of his lifetime with hemophelia.

He was born at Orange City on July 21, 1919, the son of Abraham J. Van Peursem and Jeanette Reekers.

He married Nellie Gerritsen in February, 1947. To this union were born three daughters: Bonnie, Janet and Sandra.

Surviving are his widow and children; his father, two sisters and one brother.
