Funeral services for Mrs. Abraham J. Van Peursem, 77, were held on Friday, April 21, at the First Reformed Church. The Reverend R. Van Heukelom and the Reverend Robert Bast officiated with burial in the West Lawn Cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Duane Peuse, Arden Van Peursem, Mark Van Peursem, Donn Mouw, Douglas Mouw and Evan Peuse.

Mrs. Van Peursem passed away on Wednesday at the local hospital where she had been a patient for four months.

Mrs. Van Peursem (nee Jeanette Reekers) was born December 10, 1889 in Corsica, South Dakota and was married to Mr. Abraham J. Van Peursem on January 22, 1914. They farmed near here until 1946, when they moved into Orange City.

Survivors include the widower; two daughters. Mrs. (Cynthia) Peuse of Orange City and Mrs. Lowell (Marcia) Mouw of Spencer, Iowa; two sons, Willard of Orange City and John of Deming, New Mexico; a sister Mrs. Theodore Heemstra of Orange City and 14 grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were two brothers, John and Arie Reekers, and three sisters, Mrs. Jake (Hattie) De Haan, Mrs. Jake (Marie) Oolman and Mrs. John (Gertrude) Ter Horst. Mrs. John (Jennie) Van Peursem.
