Mrs. Ralph L. Van Peursem, wife of Dr. Ralph Laurence Van Peursem, 33 Westhaven Drive, Rochester, New York, died at General Hospital in that city on October 30, 1963, after an illness of about one year.

Services were conducted by the Pastor of the Brighton Presbyterian Church, of which the Van Peursems are members, under the direction of the Hedges Funeral Home in Rochester. Final rites were held in the Kraai Funeral Chapel November 4th, with interment in the Hope Cemetery in Hull, Iowa. The Reverend N. Rozeboom of the First Reformed Church officiated.

Pallbearers were: Conrad J. De Jong, Robert G. Morrice, Mario W. De Jongh, Paul De Jager, Russell Van Peursem and Marion Van Peursem, all nephews of the deceased.

Gertrude Dykstra was born March 5, 1907, in Hull, Iowa; was a graduate of Hull High School and attended Central College at Pella, Iowa; and was married to Ralph L. Van Peursem on June 7, 1927. They were Sheldon residents in the 1930's where Mr. Van Peursem taught in the Junior College.

Mrs. Van Peursem was preceded in death by a young daughter, Joan Joy, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John J. and Annie (Newenhof) Dykstra of Hull.

Survivors include her husband; their son, Ralph L. Van Peursum, Jr., his wife Patricia and their three children, Ralph Laurence III, Ronald Scott and Laura Ann of Buffalo, New York. Also two brothers Jerry Dykstra of Sheldon and Laurence J. Dykstra of Pitsford, New York; and six sisters, Mrs. W.T. Van Wyk, Harlingen, Texas; Mrs. W.M. Vande Garde and Miss Helen Dykstra, Sheldon; Mrs. Dick De Jongh, Hartley; Mrs. E.A. De Jong Mercedes, Texas; and Mrs. F.V. Morrice, Madelia, Minnesota.
