George F. Johnson, age 69, passed away at Sioux City Jan. 1, 1972.
Funeral services were held at the Trinity Lutheran Church Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 5, 1972 with Rev. O.F. Pittack officiating and burial in the Grace Hill Cemetery.
He was born December 3, 1902 near Hawarden. On February 2, 1939 he was married to Florence Opdahl at Hudson, South Dakota. He was a lifetime member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Hawarden.
Surviving are his wife, one daughter Mrs. Ronald (Carolyn) Battrick of Des Moines, one son, Paul of East Lansing, Michigan and 2 grandaughters; three sisters Mrs. Herman (Clara) Holtkamp of Hawarden, Mrs. Odin (Edith) Hanson of LeMars and Miss Emma Johnson of Pasedena, Calif.
