Funeral services were held last Monday for Mrs. John Schreuder who died Thursday March 16 in the Hawarden nursing home. When returning from Tennessee where she had spent the winter Mrs. Schrueder suffered a stroke at Council Bluffs. She was taken care of in the Hawarden nursing home since that time. Her husband was admitted to the Veteran’s Facility in Des Moines for a few weeks treatment for his ailment. She is also survived by four children.

Daughter Mrs Florence nee Roy. Elmer Kronberg of Denison, and Mrs. Leroy F. Whelan of Murfreesboro Tenn, son Morris Ray. Florence Roy married 29 Dec 1927 at Denison IA

Note: In the 1940 census of Rock Valley John Schreuder was 51 and wife Mary was 51.

Research note: Found marriage record of Florence Leona Roy on familysearch.org, she was the daughter of Ralph L. Roy and Mary E. Miller. John Schreuder was then Mary’s second husband.
