Mrs. Jacob (Johanna) Van Marel, 69, of Sioux Center, died Monday, Nov. 17, at the home of her daughter near Sioux Center.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the First Reformed Church at Sioux Center. The Reverend Dr. Thurman Rynbrandt officiated and burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation was from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center.

Mrs. Van Marel, the former Johanna Doornink, was born May 31, 1911, near Sioux Center.

She was married June 23, 1933, at Sioux Center. They lived on a farm near Sioux Center before moving to Sioux Center in 1964. Mr. Van Marel died in 1964.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Delma) De Weerd of Sioux Center; two brothers, Dick of Rock Valley and Gerrit of Sioux Center; and four grandchildren.
