Mrs. Van Maanen Obituary

Mrs. Maggie Van Maanen was born as the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph and Alice (Bronkhorst) Mulder on January 2, 1892 near Sioux Center.

She was married to Evert "Ed" Van Maanen on February 18, 1914. To this union nine children were born.

They are Ella, Mrs. Andrew Meendering of Ellsworth, Minnesota; Bert of Doon; Roy of Inwood; Tom of Doon; Mina, Mrs. Ted Hoekstra; Edward, Margaret, Mrs. Don Hoekstra all of Hull; and Harold and Jane still at home.

On December 27 she was taken to the Sioux Center Hospital and she passed away on March 10 at the age of 61 years.

Those left to mourn her passing beside the husband, children and 24 grandchildren are four brothers, Ben of Rock Valley, Albert of Sioux Center, Jim of Alton, Gerrit of Omaha, and two sisters, Betsy, Mrs. Jake Westra of Bellflower, California, and Jennie, Mrs. Don Harting of Wilmar, Minnesota.

Her parents preceded her in death beside a sister, Maggie who died at the age of five and a brother Tom who passed away at 18 years of age.

Funeral services were held in the Protestant Reformed Church and interment was made in Hope Cemetery.
