Mrs. Edward G. Van Maanen, 89, of Rock Valley died Sunday, January 17 in a hospital in Rock Valley after a long illness.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Trinity Christian Reformed Church. The Reverend Daniel De Groot officiated. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery. Family visitation was from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley.

Mrs. Van Maanen, the former Hattie De Vries was born Septenber 24, 1892, in Middleburg. Her parents are John and Wilhelmiena (Ruisch) De Vries.

She married Edward Van Maanen, February 23, 1921, in Rock Valley. He died July 16, 1962. She had been a resident of Valley Manor Nursing Home the last seven years.

Survivors include four sons, Gerrit of Lakewood, California, and John, Henry and James, all of Rock Valley; two daughters, Mrs. Hubert (Wilmina) Landegent and Mrs. Art (Henrietta) Vanden Bosch, both of Rock Valley; a brother, Herbert of Escondido, California; a sister, Jennie of Rock Valley; 19 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren.
