From the Rock Valley Bee, March 6, 1936:

H. E. Dennis Died Friday

Homer E. Dennis, a former Rock Valley resident for several years, passed away at a hospital at Carthage, Missouri last Friday morning. He had been in the hospital there for several weeks for treatment. Me. Dennis will be well remembered here by his many friends. He was employed as manager of the electric light plant here for several years. Prior to leaving Rock Valley he served on the school board as director for a term.

He had to give up his work here on account of failing health and went to Arizona where he spent some time. From there he removed to Carthage, Mo., and later onto a farm near Carthage where he resided until taken to the hospital.

Mr. Dennis leaves his wife and one son, Willard, who visited friends here last summer. The bereaved wife and son have the sincere sympathy of many friends in Rock Valley in their sorrow.
