On Tuesday morning, the shoemaker P. De Jong died here after a long-term suffering. The deceased leaves a woman and a child. The funeral was put on Thursday afternoon; the service at home at half past one and in the church building Chr. Ger. Gemeente at half past two. Ds. Van Den Berge will give the sermon.

This one was the day of my grief and my sadness, my beloved man, Pieter De Jong, after a long-term illness, was taken away by the death from my side in the youthful age of 25 years, 3 months and 2 days. He was born in Hijlaart, Vriesland Ned., 21 Feb 1868. Only 3 years of marriage we allowed to share the sweet and sad of life together, by the marriage band. He leaves me with a son, too young to realize his loss. My husband has gone into the firm expectation to go to with God already in his youth. The Lord himself comforted me in this mine crossway. He's my only hope.

Peter De Jong died at his home east of Main street yesterday morning. Deceased was a quiet industrious man of twenty-five years and was a victim of consumption. The funeral will take place tomorrow from the Christian Ref church.
