Daisy Evelyn Van Klompenburg Dies Of Injuries
Young Woman Struck By Car in Melvin, Iowa

Miss Daisy Van Klompenburg, daughter of Ike and Agnes (Hoekstra) Van Klompenburg of south of Alton died in a Sibley hospital Tuesday evening from injuries received three hours earlier in Melvin, Iow, where she has been teaching.

She was struck by a car when starting to cross a street in Melvin. The young woman suffered a fractured skull and fractures of both legs.

The body was brought to the Van Etten Funeral Home early Wednesday. It is reported that Miss Van Klompenburg with a companion started for a walk in the early evening and that the driver of the car which struck her was blinded by the lights of another approaching machine.

After the accident Miss Van Klompenburg was rushed to the Sibley hospital where she died three hours later.

Mr. and Mrs. Van Klompenburg drove to Sibley immediately after being notified of the accident and Mrs. Van Klompenburg is confined to the hospital there herself suffering from the shock.

No date has yet been set for the funeral as Mrs. Van Klompenburg was retained in the Sibley hospital at latest report Wednesday evening.
