Mrs. John Van Holland, 76 of Rock Valley died, October 30 in Hegg Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Funeral services were held Thursday (today), November 2 in the First Christian Reformed Church with the Reverend Leonard Van Drunen officiating.

Mrs. Jake Oostra played the organ while the congregation sang " My Jesus I Love Thee" and the 53 verse of Dutch psalm 42. Pallbearers were Albert Stegenega, John De Weerd, Andrew Brenneman,, Gilbert Meernink, John T. Van Holland, and Martin Ennema.

Burial was held in the Valley View Cemetery under the direction of the Porter Funeral Home.

The former Bertha Ennema was born January 2, 1896 in the Netherlands. She was married to John Van Holland, March 10, 1917 in Rock Valley and he preceded her in death on December 11, 1951.

Survivors are four sons, Gerrit of Cypress, California, Dick of Denver, and John and Tom both of Rock Valley. Four daughter Mrs. William Van Kekerix (Tena), Mrs. Kenneth (Dora) Kooima, both of Rock Valley, Mrs. Dick (Gerti) Boeve of Ward, South Dkota and Mrs. Edwin (Mina) Kragt of Rock Rapids; 25 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one brother Herman of Sioux Center.
