From the Boyden Reporter, January 23, 1936:

Charley B. Leonard was born at Des Moines, Ia., March 6, 1892 and passed away January 14, 1936 at the hospital at Barron, Wis., at the age of almost 64 years. At the age of 7 years, his parents moved onto a farm in Lyon township, south-east of Sheldon, and in 1899 they moved onto a farm south-east of Boyden. He soon began working at the carpenter trade with the late W. S. Tuttle. He farmed in different parts of Iowa, South Dakota and Minnesota. In 1909, he was married to Miss Delia Gosline, a teacher in Sioux county for many years. They moved to Montana. His wife passed away suddenly while on a visit with relatives in Boyden in 1911, leaving a 14 months old son, Harley B.

Charley came to Wisconsin in 1926, and for several years has lived on different farms in Barron county. He attended the rural schools of Sioux county, and gathered much knowledge from books, as reading was always his favorite pastime.

Beiing hard of hearing has made him more of a recluse the last few years, except from his nearest friends. He leaves but few near relatives: his son Harley, wife and sons Burton and Gordon, and sister Mrs. Henry Work and husband of Cumberland and son Arthur of Fort Devens, Mass.

Mr. and Mrs. Harley Work [i.e., Leonard?] and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Work of Cumberland, Wis., Mrs. Victor Powers and Mrs. Fred Wagner of Sanborn were among the people from out of town who attended the funeral.

He does not appear in the Sioux County Cemetery Index or in FindaGrave.com, although his wife does. Her entry gives her birth name as Delia L. Cosline. (Also see her obituary, posted separately)
