KIRKLAND, WA—Vicki Lee Levinson, 73, formerly of Sioux Center, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the Evergreen Hospice Center in Kirkland, WA.

Vicki was born March 1, 1946, to William R. and Esther M. (DeBoer) Beernink in Sioux Center, IA. She attended the Sioux Center Public School and graduated from high school there in 1964. She then attended St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Sioux City, IA, and graduated as a registered nurse. Following her graduation she began working at the Orange City Municipal Hospital and continued her nursing career there until she relocated to Seattle, WA, in 1980. She worked as a nurse at Harborview Medical Center in downtown Seattle where she took care of those less fortunate for 26 years. On June 2, 1985, she was united in marriage to David Levinson and the couple made their home in Shohomish, WA, for many years where she enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, traveling and her dogs.
Vicki is survived by David, her devoted husband of nearly 35 years; her brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Gloria (Wissink) Beernink of Sioux Center; her sister, Marilyn K. Slavik of Olathe, KS; her mother-in-law, Ruth Levinson of Seattle, WA; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Alan and Linda (Levinson) Freyd of Edmonds, WA; as well as three nieces and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law, Samuel Levinson; and several cherished pets.

Vicki will be interred in the Sioux Center’s Memory Gardens Cemetery. In leu of flowers, please make a donation to Hospice and Home Care of Sioux Center.
