The funeral of Barney Ardelerhof whose death we mention in out last issue, occurred Thursday afternoon from the First Reformed church the regular pastor officiating. The remains were followed to their last resting place by a large number of sympathizing friends.

Death of Barney Ardelerhof
Monday afternoon occurred the death of Barney Ardelerhof at the home of his mother in the northeastern part of town, the cause being cerebrospinal meningitis. Deceased was a young man fully twenty years old of regular habits and good moral character. He was a member of the Y. M. C. A and was enrolled as a student at the Academy He was born in the Netherlands and had only recently returned from a visit to his native country. What makes his death doubly sad is that he was a widow’s only son. Only two years ago she lost another son. She then left her farm near Sioux Center and moved to orange City to give her son the advantages of a good education. In this untimely death she loses her last support and her fondly cherished expectations. The sympathy of the entire community is hers.
