Irene Dirks Mrs. Harm (Irene) Dirks, 87, of Remsen, died Thursday, May 27,1993 at the Le Mars Hospital after a brief illness. Services were held Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church. The Rev. James Wilson officiated. Burial was in the Le Mars Memorial Cemetery under direction of the Moeller Funeral Home in Remsen.

Mrs. Dirks was born July 3,1905 at Orange City, the daughter of Jacob and Gertrude (Vander Hoor) Febus. She attended Orange City Christian School. She married Harm Dirks in 1940 in Sioux City. They lived at Remsen. He was a rural mail carrier and she assisted him with his route in his final illness before his death in 1955. She was a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church and the Ladies' Aid, the VFW Auxiliary and had been active with the Remsen Senior Citizens.

Survivors include a sister, Deane Oelrich of Orange City; two nieces, Lorraine Oelrich of Carrolll and Mrs. Paul (Patricia) Muyskens of OrangeCity; a nephew and his wife, George and Linda Oelrich of Aurora, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Minnie Febus and Audrey Mintz, and an infant brother
