Hawarden Independent of April 15, 1948

A H. Draves, 84, Sioux Falls, who lived in Hawarden a short time a few years ago, died Saturday, April 3. Before going to Sioux Falls he lived at Alcester. Mr. Draves was born March 1, 1864. at Hofstedt, Germany, and came to America in 1868, locating at Ripon, Wis. The family went to Union county in a covered wagon in 1874 and settled on a homestead in South Dakota.
He Married Miss Alvina M. Reinhart of Winchester WI, April 2 1891. They had no Children of their own but adopted two, a boy, William E. Howell, now of Chicago, and Ruth Gertrude Reynolds, who died in 1931. The Widow survives.

Research note: A report on Ancestry.com (by others) list Albert Herman Draves born 1 Mar 1864 died 3 Apr 1948, he was the son of Ludwig Erst Draves Drews 1823-1902 and Ernestene Wilhelmine Draves Drews 1827-1910. Wife Alvina Reinert born 9 Oct 1870 WI died 1955, daughter of Eduard Reinert and Juliana. Children William Edward Draves 1891 - 1983 and Ruth Draves 1906-1931.
