Mr. and Mrs. Nick Vander Tuig and children went to Sioux Center Saturday to attend the funeral of Mrs. Vander Tuig’s mother, Mrs. Alice Vander Kooi. The deceased was 87 year of age.

On Thursday, Mrs. F. Van Der Kooi died, geb De Vries in the age of more than 87 years. The deceased was born in Drachten Nederland in 1838. About a year of members went to second ochtgenoot, with when she lived in a happy marriage for 50 years, her before death. Mrs. Van der Kooi lived in Sioux county for 35 years and for the last 17 years she lived with her children Mr. and Mrs. H. De Weerd, where she and her husband were in her own cottage... four children survive. Two are from her primeous marriage are J. Bylsma van Lynden WA and G. Bylsma of Grand Rapids MI and two from the last marriage Mrs. H. De Weerd and Mr. Vander Kooi further there are 26 Klienkinderen and 16 great-grandchildren. The funeral took place Saterday with a service in the Second Chr Ref Church led by Ds H. Heynen of Middleburg.
