From the Sioux County Index (Hull), December 20, 1935:

Mother of Mrs. Charley Dickman Died Last Thurs.

Mrs. Wm. Fick, who has been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Charley Dickman for many years, suffered a stroke on December 11th and passed away the following day, Thursday, December 12th.

Mrs. Fick, nee Hensch, was born July 16, 1859 in Hannover, Germany. In 1884 she was married to Wm. Fick and to this union five children were born; three boys and two girls. The boys all died in infancy.

In 1888 Mr. and Mrs. Fick came to this country and for twenty five years they lived in Karlstadt, New Jersey. In 1913 they moved to this vicinity to make their home with their daughter, Mrs. Dickman. Mr. Fick died in 1928. One other daughter, Mrs. Henry Hensch, of Pipestone, Minnesota, also survives, and there are five grandchildren. She also has one brother living in New Jersey.

The funeral was held Sunday from St. Paul’s Lutheran church north of Hull, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Goeringer, and interment was made in the cemetery near the church.

The Index joins the many friends of the family in extending sincere sympathy.
