June Doris was born on December 26, 1932, in Inwood, the daughter of Helmer and Johanna (Severtson) Moen. She was raised in Inwood, where she graduated from high school.

On May 1, 1951, she married Donald W. Katt in Luverne, Minnesota. They made their home in Sioux Falls and Aberdeen, South Dakota, and Alton, and Humboldt, Iowa. In October of 2018, they settled in Orange City. Don passed away on May 26, 2019, in Orange City, after more than 68 years of marriage.

Mr. and Mrs. Katt were charter members of the Faith Lutheran Church. June participated in various church and civic organizations and worked as a nurse’s aide at the Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City.

She was blessed with a special gift of hospitality. June was happiest in the kitchen, cooking for anyone who walked through her door. She had a talent for hosting and was always excited to serve a meal, even on short notice. Those that visited her never left empty-handed;

June made sure to send her guests home with homemade treats, and her warm conversations always left others feeling full of joy.

June was most concerned with the comfort of others, and she will forever be celebrated as a kind and generous mom, grandma, great-grandma, aunt, and friend. In all her days, she loved her husband and family and served them well.

Survivors include her three children and their spouses, Ronda (Dave) Aalbers, of Orange City; David (Ruth) Katt, of Alton; and Laura (Bruce) Lubach, of Mesa, Arizona; nine grandchildren, Brady (Lindsay) Aalbers, Breanne (Pat) Van Gelder, Brent (Brittany) Aalbers, Jeremy (Heather) Katt, Jason (Heather) Katt, Jaci (Dan) Johnson, Jenon (Mark) Scallon, Courtney (Dan) Jennings, and Tanner Lubach (special friend, Haylee); 21 great-grandchildren; five sisters-in-law, Dorothy Ter Wee, of Sioux Falls; Jean Kock, of Inwood; Mary Van Roekel, of Larchwood; Karen (Doug) Wiggins, of Greeley, Colorado; and Kathleen (Gary) Dieren, of Rock Rapids; three brothers-in-law, Dale (Millie) Katt and Jim (Lynne) Katt, all of Rock Rapids; and Marlo Hanson, of Inwood.
