Death came to Mrs. Gerrit J. Vander Wilt, Tuesday evening, June 28, after a short illness. Funeral services were held in the home and in the First Reformed Church, Friday, with Reverend H. Colenbrander and Reverend Manson officiating. Burial was in the Middleburg Cemetery.

Maartje "Martha" De Graaf was born at Ackley on May 17, 1870. Her family moved to the Newkirk vicinity, and shortly thereafter she was united in marriage to Gerrit Vander Wilt in 1890. They were the parents of seven children. They lived in the Middleburg and Orange City vicinity for the 59 years of their married life.

Surviving are five children, Jennie, Mrs. Arie Bomgaars of Orange City; Frank of Middleburg; Kathryn, Mrs. Henry Rouwenhorst of Orange City; Sophie, Mrs. Gerrit Koerselman of Middleburg, and Dick of Sibley. There are also 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. One brother, Andrew De Graaf also survives.

Her husband preceded her in death four and one-half months ago and she also lost two sons, Anthony and Herman.
