Mrs. William Vander Stouwe, 79, formerly of Rock Valley passed away early Wednesday morning at the home of her daughter, the Harold Millers here, after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Vander Stouwe made her home at Millers since her dismissal from the Orange City Hospital a year ago.

Mrs. Vander Stouwe, nee Bertina Davis, was born August 3, 1884 at Peterson, Iowa, and grew up in that area.

She was married to William Vander Stouwe in April, 1909. They were the parents of one daughter, Helen, Mrs. Harold Miller of Orange City who with her husband and one daughter, Jean, and one son, Mark, survive.

Mr. Vander Stouwe passed away in July, 1947.

Mrs. Vander Stouwe was the last living member of the Davis family. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Van Etten Funeral Home with the Reverend A. Hook, pastor of the American Reformed Church officiating. Interment was made in the Hull Cemetery.

Mark Miller, who is a cadet at the West Point Military Army Academy, West Point, New York, was unable to attend his grandmother's funeral.
