John Vander Sluis who has been ill with tuberculosis for sometime died at his home Monday March 29 at 2 o'clock p.m. at the age of 37 years.

He was born in Orange City on March 14, 1900 and always lived in this community. He worked on the farm and later became a carpenter.

A year ago a western climate was advised so the family moved out to Arizona but found no relief and they returned again to Orange City.

He is survived by his wife, Cora (Veldboom) Vander Sluis and three children, Harold, Ronald and John junior. His mother, Mrs. Jennie Zipp, two brothers, Cornie Vander Sluis of Los Angeles, California, Charles of Ida Grove, three sisters, Nettie, Mrs. Arie Kanis; Renceila, Mrs. Robert Hyink of Los Angeles, California ; Carrie, Mrs. L.R. Amoo of Morristown, South Dakota.

He was preceded in death by his father the late Isaac Vander Sluis and one sister Clara.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home and at 1:30 at the American Reformed Church, Reverend L. Nattress officiating.
