Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Monday, May 19, at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Chapel for Martin Vander Schaaf, 59, who passed away Saturday at Agana, Guam, following a brief illness. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Simon Vander Schaaf of Lebanon and was with the navy branch of the Civil Service for 25 years.

Reverend Louis Tamminga, pastor of Bethel Christian Reforned Church will officiate at the service, and burial will take place at the Lebanon Cemetery under the direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Bob Lindberg, of Santa Barbara, California; two granddaughters; the following brothers and sisters - Art of Stony Plaine, Alberta, Canada, Florence (Mrs. Jake Manfred) of Duluth, Minnesota, Dora (Mrs. John Brower) of Doon, Iowa, William of Custer, South Dakota, Mary (Mrs. Henry Helmers) of West Liberty, Iowa, Sadie (Mrs. Jim Zeilenga) of South Holland, Illinois, Simon of Rock Valley, Iowa, Bert of Dolton, Illinois, Jerry of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and John of Sioux Center, Iowa.
