Find a Grave lists Anna Maria Schemmel born 16 Oct 1878 New Vienna IA died 14 Dec 1942 Granville IA buried in St. Joseph’s cemetery Granville IA. Husband William Henry Schemmel, children listed were Raymond Clem Schemmel, William Lawrence Schemmel, Hilda Frances Schemmel and Leo Joseph Schemmel.

Mrs. Wm. Schemmel of Granville dies. Mrs. Wm. Schemmel, Sr. beloved Granville resident passed on in the Le Mars Hospital on an 14th at the age of 63 years and three months. She had been ill for a week and died following an operation.

Anna Rabe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clement Rabe, was born Oct 16th 1878 at Dyersville IA, and at the age of 15 moved to Granville. She was married June 18, 1895, to Wm. Schemmel at Granville and is survived by her husband and seven children, namely : Hilda, Raymond, Clarence, Leo, William of Granville, Gregor of Silverton OR, Rose Mrs. Art Colling of Sanborn; also by two sisters Mrs. John Schemmel, and Mrs. Ed May of Beloit WI.

Funeral services were held on Jan 17th at St. Joseph’s church with Rev. Knobbe officiating and interment was in the parish cemetery. (Pallbearers mentioned as well as those present from a distance.)

Mrs. Schemmel was a faithful member of the Christian Mother Society, a home loving wife and mother, loved by all who knew her or came in contact with her, No sacrifice was too great to make for her loved ones, She was interested and helpful in all worthwhile things that make a better world, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
