Death has once more visited a home in our midst, this time laying its blighting hand upon Rosa A., wife of Alfred W. Heald, who passed away at 7 o'clock on Wednesday morning,from inflamation of the bowels. She had been sick only a few days and no one expected that her end was so near. She was 42 years, 7 months, and 7 days.

Mrs. Heald was a devoted wife and mother, and leaves ten motherless children to mourn her loss with the stricken husband, her youngest child being a little baby girl four months old: Guy E., Clifford, Leda, Raymond, Clyde, Arthur G., Alice, Levi, Walter Roy, Edwin.

Mr. and Mrs. Heald have been residents of this vicinity since the county was first settled and have borne together all the hardships of the pioneer, which were not few, and the Independent expresses its heartfelt sorrow with and for the bereaved household.

Rosamond Ann Winters was born in Meigs County, Ohio, September 21, 1853. She came to Iowa in 1870 and in 1872 she was married to Alfred W. Heald. She united with the M.E. Church in the winter of 1883 and remained a faithful member until her death.
