Mr. John A. De Wild passed away suddenly of a heart attack at his home on Sunday evening, May 9 after suffering from a heart condition the past three years.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 13, 1971 at the First Reformed Church, the Reverend David Ter Beest officiating. The Boote brothers quartet sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," and the congregation sang "Rock of Ages, Cleft for Me."Pallbearers were: Nephews: John A. De Wild. Art Kooiker, Lawrence De Wild, Vernon Ten Haken, Morris Nettinga and Owen Baas. Burial services was in the Hope Center. Kraai Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. De Wild was born on September 1, 1906 on a farm three miles south of Hull to John and Antonia (Verploeg) De Wild. On February 12, 1930, he was united in marriage to Jeanette Dykstra. They lived in Hull seven years before moving to the home place where they lived until his death at the age of 64 years, 8 months, 9 days. To this union was born one daughter, Carol.

He was baptized and a confessing and faithful member of the First Reformed Church of Hull. Preceding him in death were: his parents, one sister, Mrs. D.H. (Hattie) Wissink, four brothers: Conrad, Henry and two who died in childhood.
