Funeral services for the late Louis Vander Laan, 87, were held last week Friday afternoon at the First Reformed Church with the Reverend R. Van Heukelom and Reverend R. Bast officiating. Burial was at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral Home.

Mr. Vander Laan was born in he Netherlands November 30, 1878, and came to the United States as a young man, living in Orange City since that time. For the past two years he resided in the pioneer Memorial Home.

He married Coba Versteeg July 12, 1930. They had no children.

Mrs. Vander Laan preceded him in death August 29, 1949.

Survivors are a brother, John, of Orange City. One sister, Sarah, Mrs. Neal Muilenburg, passed away in August 1923.
