Funeral services for Jason Vander Heiden were held Friday, September 2nd, at 1:30 P.M. at the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center, with the Reverend Esdert W. Smidt of the Sibley Reformed Church officiating. Organist was Mrs. Freda Vander Brake, and soloist was Mr. Larry Ver Doorn, who sang “Have Thine Own Way Lord” and “God Will Take Care Of You.”

Casket-bearers were Marion Bomgaars of Davenport, Iowa; Andrew Wolthuizen and Wilbur Vander Tuig of Sheldon; Gerrit Brinks of Garvin, Minnesota, Gerrit J. Bosman and Glen Blankers of Boyden.

Interment was at the Community Cemetery at Sioux Center, under arrangements by Cooperative Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

Mr. Vander Heiden was born February 25, 1937, at Boyden, Iowa, where he received his schooling and grew to manhood. He served in World War Two from November 3, 1956 to August 28, 1960, in the U.S. Airforce.

On August 6, 1959, he was united in marriage to Hendrene Lammers at Sioux Center, Iowa. They lived at Sibley, Iowa, until eight months ago, when they moved to Sheldon where he operated the Jason Refrigeration business.

Mr. Vander Heiden met death in a car accident near Slayton, Minnesota, on August 30, 1966, at the age of 29 years, 6 months, and 5 days.

He leaves to mourn: his wife, Hendrene; two daughters, Dee Ann and Deborah Kaye; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Vander Heiden of Boyden; and one sister, Wilma, Mrs. Bert Heida of Ocheyedan, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
