Died: August 21, 1990Tom Van Den Top, 80, of Rock Valley, Iowa, died Tuesday, August 21, 1990 in Hegg Memorial Hospital, Rock Valley.
Mr. Van Den Top was born April 27, 1910, in Ede, the Netherlands.
He came to the United States in 1911 and married Reka Van Grootheest on November 23, 1935, in Rock Valley.
They farmed near Alvord until 1939 when they moved to a farm near Rock Valley. They retired and moved into town in 1972.
Survivors include his wife; three sons: Gerrit and Gerald, both of Coopersville, Michigan; and Alvin, Hawarden, Iowa; 23 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a brother John Sr. of Rock Valley.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 24 in the Netherlands Reformed Church, Rock Valley. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery, Rock Valley. Visitation was held at the Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley.
