HULL YOUNG MAN, 28, PASSED AWAY ---JAKE VANDEN OEVER LIVED HERE ALL HIS LIFE---FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD FRIDAY

Jake VanDen Oever, 28 years old, a life long resident of this vicinity, died at the State Hospital in Iowa City, where he was taken recently for treatment of a complication of diseases, principally heart trouble. He died Monday night, December 2nd from pneumonia.

The remains were brought to the Claerbout and Weir Funeral Home here on Wednesday, accompanied by his mother and brother who were with him when the end came.

Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon, December 8th, from the home northwest of Hull at 1:00 o’clock and from the First Reformed Church at Doon at 1:30, Reverend Vande Woude officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery here at Hull.

Jake VanDen Oever was born on May 4, 1912, northwest of Hull on the farm on which he lived all his life. He died on Monday, December 2, 1940 at the age of 28 years, 7 months and 28 days. Jake had been in very poor health for the past four years and became seriously ill three weeks ago.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Peter (Barbara Brouwer) VanDen Oever and four sisters and five brothers namely: John, Henry, and Peter at home; Fred of Doon; Andrew of Stickney, South Dakota; Mrs. Peter Burgraff of Doon; Mrs. Clarence Top and Mrs. Ralph Top of Beaver Creek, Minnesota; and Cynthia at home. His father, Peter VanDen Oever died January 23, 1938.
